Advantia Health’s Maternal Fetal Medicine Department is excited to welcome a passionate and dedicated Women’s Health Registered Nurse to our exceptional team! Based in the heart of Washington, D.C., at our state-of-the-art LIV office, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on maternal and fetal health while working alongside a collaborative and compassionate group of healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor high-risk pregnancies for complications and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families about high-risk conditions, procedures, and self-care practices during pregnancy.
- Performs patient telephone triage, assesses needs, and coordinates needs with medical staff.
- Provide expert nursing care to high-risk obstetric patients in an outpatient setting.
- Offer emotional support to patients and families navigating complex pregnancy challenges.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Assists with tests and examination results as needed.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures; attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Enhances patient satisfaction by providing concerned, personal, prompt and courteous customer service that supports the patients’ right to dignity and privacy.
- Adapts to and excels in the use of all electronic programs utilized in the division/department to include, but not limited to, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and general computer applications. Adheres to all HIPAA and Privacy policies.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Nursing, graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Registered Nurse license in Washington D.C.; CPR certification.
- 2+ years of professional nursing experience with L&D experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care; Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care; Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
